2014

Well, based on my lack of posts this year, I'm sure it wouldn't take a genius to figure out that this year kind of started out differently than I had imagined. Only five days into 2014, I got a phone call from my dad telling me that my sweet grandmother had, after almost 94 years, gone to heaven.

Though we miss her here, I feel a sense of peace when I think about the fact that she has been reunited with her husband, her son, all of her brothers, and many more members of her family. As a woman who lost her hearing at a young age, I know she is listening to the voices of those she loves and the hearing music she had missed out on for so many years.

She was a wonderful woman, with a deep love for God, her family, and friends. After years of struggling with poor health, she is finally in heaven, where I imagine they threw quite the party to welcome her home.
