32 Week Bumpdate!

32 Weeks!
How far along: 32 Weeks which means we've got about eight weeks left...give or take! So crazy!

Baby Size: Our little girl is the size of a head of lettuce this week. She is about 19 inches long and weighs about 4 pounds. Over the next few weeks she should gain about a half a pound or so a week. I scheduled the rest of my appointments with my doctor yesterday and I'm really looking forward to our growth check ultrasound at week 36! Can't wait to see our sweet girl again!

Weight gain: To date, I've gained about 30 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight. I have seen my weight gain start to slow down...and that probably goes hand in hand with the fact that I am not eating quite as much and am trying to eat more veggies and less heavy food in an effort to feel less full!

Maternity clothes: All the time, and some of them are starting to get a little snug!?! Thank goodness for Piko shirts, I'm living in them now!

Sleep: Sleep is really hit or miss. Some nights I sleep really well and other nights I don't sleep at all! I'm trying to just clear my head before I get in bed at night, but sometimes that is easier said than done!

Gender: GIRL!!!!!

Movement: We have got a mover! I read an article yesterday that said that about this time, our little one should be sleeping 90-95% of the day...and based on her movements, I'm not sure she is! I think we have one active little babe! I can't wait to spend that awake time with her when she arrives! I'm so ready to see her little face and snuggle with her!

Best moment this week: Adam and I had a great weekend in Charlotte. We got most of our Christmas shopping done and spent some really nice time together. We had some great meals and just quality bonding time! We're trying to get as much of that in as possible these days!

Looking forward to: I can't wait to spend time with family this week! I am so grateful that we'll get to have a pretty normal Thanksgiving this year before everything changes!

Food cravings: No real cravings lately. I have been wanting more salads and fresh steamed vegetables, but otherwise, no major cravings!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope!

What I miss: Still missing my old clothes and my normal feet. But, the countdown is on!

Symptoms: Swelling and pain in my hips. Both of these are really normal for this time...and I'll be living with these two symptoms until this pregnancy comes to an end!

Nursery: The nursery is getting so close! All we really have left to do is hang pictures! Hopefully we'll have some time to do that in the coming weeks!

Wedding rings on or off? On!

Mood: I'm in a great mood and so excited to spend time with my family this week! We've got lots of fun planned for the next few days!

Workouts: I did about one hour of yoga this week and walked a total of 9 miles. I desperately need to step up my yoga hours and am hoping to do a little more with my sister when we're together later this week!

Adam and I are getting so excited about this sweet girl. Adam is really ready to see her and hold her...and I couldn't agree more. Though I'm anxious about having a baby, I am really looking forward to meeting this little one! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! We are so blessed with this little one and so grateful for wonderful family and friends.

31 Week Bumpdate!

31 Weeks!

How far along: 31 Weeks! And time is flying by!

Baby Size: Baby girl is about the size of a coconut or a pineapple! She is about 18 inches long and weighs about 3.5 pounds. Her brain and nerves and really doing some serious development this week. The irises in her eyes can now react to light!

Weight gain: I've gained around 28 pounds. I'm definitely headed towards gaining in more of the 35 - 40 pound weight range. While this is not my favorite, I know my body is taking what it needs to help our sweet girl develop. And...hopefully it will all come off with some breastfeeding coming January and February!

Maternity clothes: Oh yes...and some of my maternity clothes are even starting to get a little tight!

Sleep: Not so great. Sometimes I sleep really well, other times, not so much. I'm finding that all it takes is one thought to keep me up all night, whether it is the nursery, packing our bags for the hospital or planning a grocery list...once my mind starts going, there is no sleeping!

Gender: GIRL!!!!!

Movement: She is moving a lot, but I am starting to notice that she seems to sleep for longer stretches. When she is awake, I can tell because her movements are much more pronounced than they have been...I guess that is what happens when you start running out of room!

Best moment this week: I had a great weekend at home with my parents. I was in Jackson for the weekend and it was so nice to be able to relax and spend time with my mom and dad without any distractions. We worked on the cornices for the nursery, ate some wonderful meals (as usual), and even did a little yoga! On Sunday some close family friends threw a little baby shower for me! It was so wonderful to see family and friends, the perfect way to top off an already great weekend!

Looking forward to: Adam and I are getting away soon for a little Christmas shopping and relaxation. I can't wait for a little "us" time. We'll also be crossing some baby items off the list! AND one of my dearest friends is coming over tonight to help me get a handle of the disaster that is our nursery at the present. We are so blessed that our baby has been showered with so many gifts...but it's time to figure out where everything goes!!! Thank goodness for Ashley!

Food cravings: No cravings. Food is starting to become difficult again. I am not ever super hungry and am finding that it is very easy to eat too much. I really need to thing closely about what I eat before I eat it

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope

What I miss: I am ready for normal feet and ready to wear my old clothes. I'm starting to getting a little tired of the same maternity clothes over and over...

Symptoms: Swelling feet and round ligament pain...and that's pretty much it!

Nursery: Hoping that after tonight's organization party that it will be getting in shape! Hopefully we'll be at a place for me to post a full tour!

Wedding rings on or off? On! Thank goodness no swelling in my hands, yet!

Mood: Hmmm...this one is tough...it's all over the place! One minute I am excited, the next overwhelmed, the next anxious, and then thrilled...it's a roller coaster!

Workouts: Workouts this week were a little slim. I walked a total of six miles and did three hours of prenatal yoga. I'm having to cut back on my walking because of my round ligament pain and slowly widening hips. The Prenatal yoga does help ease the pain, so I'm hoping to amp that up a little over the coming weeks, as my walking dwindles.
Here is a little blast from the past...my how far we've come!

30 Week Bumpdate!

30 weeks!!!
How far along: 30 Weeks...I can't believe we're in the home stretch with only ten weeks to go! It's exciting and scary and bittersweet. While I'm ready, I'm also feeling like I'm really not ready!

Baby Size: Baby girl is the size of a butternut squash this week! She is about 17 inches long and weighs about 3 pounds! She is still filling out and putting on weight and as her organs finish developing, the lanugo (little hairs) all over her body are starting to come off! I can't believe she'll be full term in just 7 weeks!

Weight gain: Up about 25 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that the number on the scale is okay and it's okay that it's going to keep going up. I'm going to continue exercising and eating well and hopefully when the time comes, getting in shape will be easy and fulfilling. I'm ready to get back to running and exercising like normal!

Maternity clothes: Of course! Though I'm trying to pair my maternity pants with some non-maternity tops. Only about ten more weeks and I'd love to get through them without buy too much more in the maternity clothes department!

Sleep: Sleep is even more interesting than it was last week...I am starting to get the impression that I might be moving into the insomnia phase...3:00am and I have started to really get to know each other...

Gender: GIRL!!!!!

Movement: Tons! This weekend was so exciting because she was really moving a lot and my family was able to feel some serious kicks. Their reactions were picture perfect and so sweet. This little nugget is already so loved!

Best moment this week: We had a great weekend with my parents and sister in town and summed it all up with the best couples shower on Sunday! We are so very lucky to have such wonderful and sweet friends. I feel so blessed that our little girl will grow up surrounded by such fun, smart, and caring adults.

Looking forward to: I'm looking forward to a little trip home this weekend! Some sweet sweet friends of mine and my family are hosting a fun little ladies shower on Sunday and I am looking forward to seeing everyone! This is also the next to last REALLY busy week at work, and I'm looking forward to the light at the end of the tunnel!

Food cravings: Still pancakes and fruit...

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing!

What I miss: Missing red wine and regular feet...the feet more than the wine.

Symptoms: Swelling feet. I know I have a lot of control over this...I can make things much better if I slow down and put my feet up, but finding time to do that is hard and the swelling is frustrating. But, I'm hoping as things slow down a little in the next few weeks that I'll be able to really get this under control!

Nursery: We're almost there. Just a few small things now! Stay tuned for a full tour in the next several weeks!

Wedding rings on or off? On!

Mood: My mood is all over the place. I'm going to blame this on the third trimester hormones...but I'm really starting to see some major swings. I feel like most days I wake up on the "right side of the bed" and then within minutes can be in tears...poor Adam has soldiered through this part and been a sweetheart about comforting me...even when I'm not even sure what I'm crying about! Pregnancy can be a little crazy!

Workouts: This week was a little slack on the workouts. It was truly a very busy week, I walked about 8.5 miles and did one hour of yoga. Hopefully I'll get back on track with the workouts this coming week!

There are so many emotions flying around now. We are excited and nervous, thrilled and anxious. I'm really starting to feel the nesting coming on and I imagine after this weekend it will be full force as we start to really get down to business and get things organized. It's time to start stocking up on diapers, postpartum needs, and start stocking the freezer with meals for when baby comes! This is all so wonderful and amazing and completely overwhelming. I'm excited, but at the same time, glad we have ten more weeks (give or take...).

29 Week Bumpdate!

29 Weeks!
How far along: 29 Weeks!

Baby Size: Our sweet one is the size of a small cabbage (WOAH!) She is about 17 inches long and approximately 2.5 to 3 pounds.

Weight gain: To date, I've gained about 23 pounds. While this is right on track with what I'm supposed to gain, I'll readily admit that number scares me just a little, especially when I have 11 weeks (give or take) to go!

Maternity clothes: Oh yes!

Sleep: Sleep is getting interesting. I'm waking up a lot during the night and when I sleep, I don't feel like I'm sleeping as soundly as usual.

Gender: GIRL!!!!!

Movement: She is continuing to move, and her moves are getting more pronounced!

Best moment this week: We had a great time on Friday night with some friends of ours celebrating Halloweek. We got to hang out with them, and eat chili and relax while giving out candy! After that we had a nice quiet weekend at home. We didn't really have any plans and we ended up staying in and just hanging out and getting some things done around the house while the weather outside was nasty. On Sunday, I had an amazing prenatal massage. I am going to need to have at least one more of these before our little one gets here! It was heavenly!

Looking forward to: Our couples shower next weekend! It's going to be so much fun!

Food cravings: Pancakes and fruit. I've been on a pancake kick for about two weeks now. Adam and I went to breakfast on Saturday morning and I had some really yummy blueberry pancakes...but I'd like some more now...

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing!

What I miss: Missing red wine and regular feet...

Symptoms: Swelling feet.

Nursery: The nursery is coming along! We're about ready to really start getting into organizing everything and figuring out where things are actually going to go (rather than just stacking boxes in the closet)!

Wedding rings on or off? On!

Mood: Great mood mixed with a little anxiety. Things are starting to get serious and I'm looking forward to things slowing down a little so I can take a step back and figure out what we still need for this babe!

Workouts: I walked a total of 16.5 miles this week and did a few hours of yard work on Sunday! A great week of workouts!

This is such an exciting, overwhelming, and scary time. I am so thankful for time with Adam where we can relax and just enjoy each other's company. I'm looking forward to so much fun that is to come!

28 Week Bumpdate!

HEEELLLLOOOOO THIRD Trimester!!!! *Pardon the lack of picture and the fact that this post is WAY late...it's been a crazy week!!!

How far along: 28 Weeks! We've reached the seven month mark and officially entered the THIRD and final trimester! So crazy!!!! 12 weeks to go!

Baby Size: Sweet baby girl is about the size of a head of cauliflower. She's about 16 inches long and weighs about 2,5 pounds. She is steadily gaining weight and a little baby fat and her brain is developing rapidly. At this point, though it would be difficult, her lungs are developed and could breathe air.

Weight gain: I have an appointment this week, but based on my last appointment I'm up about 20 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight. We've moved to seeing the doctor every two weeks!

Maternity clothes: Full time

Sleep: Sleep is getting a little more difficult....mainly because I can't seem to turn my brain off. Usually, once I get to sleep, I sleep really well...but if I wake up, I am noticing that I'm starting to have a harder time falling back to sleep.

Gender: GIRL!!!!!

Movement: She is moving like crazy and I love it! It is getting so fun now with all of her movements. She's even starting to let a few friends of mine feel her crazy dance moves!

Best moment this week: Adam and I had a nice weekend at home. We had dinner with some good friends and went to a soccer game for our friends' little boy. And I ended the week on a high note with a little girls dinner on Monday night to end week 27 and kick off the crazy busy season of work. It was the perfect way to relax. There was a lot of laughter and good food...always a good combination!

Looking forward to: I'm looking forward to another great weekend at home. We're planning to do some yard work and I'm getting a prenatal massage on Sunday! I can't wait for that! It will be much needed after this crazy week! We're also going to our friends' house for a little Halloween get together on Friday night. It will be very low key and relaxed with a fire pit, chili, and lots of trick or treaters!

Food cravings: No serious cravings. Fruit, as usual and all things pumpkin: cheesecake, pancakes, etc. I found a great recipe on Cupcakes and Cashmere for Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Pancakes...yes, we will be having these on Saturday morning!!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing, but I am really paying attention to my portions. I am also not really feeling the urge to snack like I was a few weeks ago. I'm eating fewer, smaller meals these days, but it seems to be working out well for me. I'm getting full quickly and staying full longer...I guess that's a good sign that baby girl is growing!

What I miss: I am REALLY missing red wine right now. I really haven't missed alcohol at all until it started to cool off and now I would LOVE to have a glass of red wine...almost there! And, as usual, I'm ready to have my normal, non-swollen feel back!!

Symptoms: Lots of swelling in my feet...standard. These next few weeks are going to be really busy, so I'm trying to make a conscious effort to slow down and find time to kick my feet up...even if it means sacrificing some things that I love. Time to slow it down a little!

Nursery: We've got a big update coming soon! Things are really starting to come together!!!

Wedding rings on or off? On!

Mood: Great! I'm excited and feeling really good for the most part. As I've mentioned we're starting our busiest time at work and I'm excited that it is finally beginning and I can start checking things off my list! We've got some really exciting weekends coming up with baby showers, a little early Christmas shopping and soon, Thanksgiving! What a great time of year...I'm looking forward to lots of fun times with family and great friends!

Workouts: I walked about 13 miles this week. It was a pretty busy week so I didn't get quite as much walking in as I would have liked, but all in all, I feel good about my workouts this week. I really need to step it up with....and by that I mean get back into...prenatal yoga. My goal, starting this week, is to try and do my prenatal yoga video or another yoga-esque video twice a week for the remainder of my pregnancy. Hopefully that will get us ready for a good, healthy delivery!

Time is flying and it is both exciting and scary. Adam and I are trying to squeeze in as much together time as we can while it's just the two of us. We just booked a weekend in Charlotte for the end of November and I'm really looking forward to that time together. Things at home, in general, and in the nursery, are really coming together. And as usual, we are so thankful for this blessing. We can't wait to meet this sweet baby girl!
